Hi,I'm Irma La Bomba, just an ordinary person living a simple life in a modest home in a suburb outside of the City of the Angels. During my lifetime I've had many lives -- I've raised three children...and one husband...have survived a mother-in-law who, to tell the truth, was very nice to me...she always saved me a serving of tuna casserole whenever she made it because she knew I liked it, even though her son couldn't stomach tuna in any way, shape or form. But that's okay, cause she would always go out of her way to fix his favorite foods, a bonus for being her only son and the youngest of three. His other siblings were sisters who were career-minded feminists long before it was stylish, so they quickly took me under their wing and taught me how to fend for myself. Although my life hasn't always been sunshine and roses, there isn't much that hasn't happened in my life that hasn't inspired laughter, which can be attributed to my father who always told me that when I did something stupid, it was better to laugh at myself first before someone else did. Therefore, I grew up with little embarrassment about anything that happened to me. I just laughed about it and moved on. That's what I'm all about and what I will be blogging about...it'll be a look on the lighter side of life, dedicated to all my family and friends with whom I have shared so many delicious adventures, many of which are the basis and inspiration for these essays. So, welcome to a look on the lighter side of life, where smiling is so much more fun than frowning, and the only tears we shed are those of joy. ILB
